The Canada, Ontario and Municipal GeoPortals provide an enterprise GIS service with data, technologies, and hosting that almost any business unit or service can benefit from:

• It is a service of Infrastructure Ontario developed to help clients make informed business decisions about their assets and the effectiveness of their programs.
• Enterprise cloud GIS that brings mapping and business information together into one integrated view.
• Consists of the reporting tools, GeoViewer, DataViewer and DocumentViewer that provide a consistent and easy-to-use way of accessing data.
• Includes Google maps, imagery, basemaps and clients’ data,
• Provides a cost effective, high-impact way to improve how your organization accesses information, communicates and makes decisions.

The Staging GeoPortal is a staging site for testing GeoPortal applications

GeoPortal technology has been leveraged by federal and government clients since 2006. Clients partnered with Infrastructure Ontario to host and access their data in GeoPortal’s cloud based GIS system. Some examples of these initiatives are:

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Ontario Region Engineering

The engineering assets group manages critical federal structures. They leveraged the IO GeoPortal services by creating the PSPC Engineering Assets Portal that enables authorized users to post and share information.

IO Customer Portal

Customized service developed and delivered by Infrastructure Ontario to its clients in 2010. This service leverages GeoPortal to provide a “one-window” view to IO’s clients to access asset data, reports and information. The services also allow clients to add & manage their own Real Estate data & documents.

ENDM GeoPortal

Customized view that allows for Title searching by ENDM staff to fulfill regulations under the Mining Act.

IO FPT GeoPortal

Custom GeoPortal service developed in partnership with the federal government and all other provincial and territorial governments that provides fast and easy access to important information about the real estate assets they manage.

IO RCP

The Realty Circulation Portal is a service used by some provincial government ministries and agencies to post information about certain Ontario properties as part of the disposition process. Other broader public sector entities, such as school boards, municipalities, and the federal government, may also use the service to post their surplus properties.

FLIG-Collaboration Portal

The IO GeoPortal services was leveraged to create a module for the management of laboratory information by the Federal Laboratory Inventory Group in order to better enable sharing of equipment and expertise.

PSPC - Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) Collaboration Portal

The Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) was a community-initiated environmental remediation project created to clean-up low-level radioactive waste in the Port Hope area. They leveraged the IO GeoPortal services to build a Collaboration Portal that allowed key project stakeholders (AECL, PSPC and project contractors) to share and access relevant information to achieve their goal.

Aboriginal Consultation Information System (ACIS)

Available to all OPS employees to obtain information on assertion, treaties, communities, and reserves.

Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) GeoPortal

Custom GeoPortal solution developed for Niagara Parks Commission to access their business data in spatial and tabular formats.
